What is YEPS?
Rhondda Cynon Taf’s Youth Engagement and Participation Service (YEPS) is committed to supporting young people aged 11 to 25 to improve their resilience to deal with current and future challenges, supporting their well-being and their positive engagement in and contribution to the communities in which they live.
The overarching aim of YEPS is to work towards an RCT vision of young people feeling safe, being healthy, both physically and mentally and having a pathway in life, which enables prosperity.
The Post 16+ Support team within YEPS can help any 16 to 25 year old with appropriate learning support, careers advice and guidance, provide coaching, advocacy and personal support, liaising with partners (Career Wales, training providers, schools) on behalf of young people, delivering travel training, supporting with employability skills (CV writing, interview skills, etc) and offering ongoing individual support to assist young people into their chosen destination. This could include helping young people to set up their own business
YEPS & Welsh ICE
We are extremely pleased that YEPS and Welsh ICE have partnered together to offer our first youth entrepreneurship project.
During Covid, we have noticed just how creative young people have been, using their new-found hobbies, passions, and skills to support their families and communities, raising money for charity, and making money for themselves.
Few would envisage this being a business, but this is where we can help, turning that new skill, passion, or idea into a business. We will provide you with the tools to market your idea, how to source funding and learn from other entrepreneurs to develop your own business. Every business started as an idea, see how far you can develop your idea with the support of youth workers and business development professionals
