Exciting news! The finalists for the ICE Chairman’s Award have been announced! 🎉

Join us in celebrating and supporting these six awesome folks on November the 23rd at 6pm! They will be pitching in front of an audience at Welsh ICE for a sweet £5000 💰🤩

Let us introduce each of the finalists, with a brief intro of their business ideas that they will be pitching! ✨

Daniel Minty – Minty’s Gig Guide

Minty’s Gig Guide is essentially a what’s on guide for live music in Cardiff & South Wales (with a view to expanding Wales-wide). They get what’s on our doorsteps into your pocket! As well as benefiting music fans, the Guide also gives a platform to grassroots venues and aspiring artists, promoting diversity within Wales’ music scene. They advocate for and help to protect the cultural fabric of our music community.

Tim Anfield – Cool Cats

Cool Cats is a new way for young families to benefit from mindfulness, supporting and children to navigate difficulties, enjoy the lovely times, and to reach their potential. It’s an online family wellbeing scheme designed to bring mindfulness to life for this audience through an online toolkit full of easy and fun activities to enable them to learn mindfulness together.

Martina Fabricci – CBEHx

CBEHx is an EdTech & Social Platform that offers a visual way to learn science by providing a low-cost CPD accredited program, interactive lab simulations with assessment in a virtual learning environment. A place where you can learn from PhD scientists and industry professionals anytime, anywhere on any device.

Fotini Teneketzi – Four Minutes First Aid

Four Minutes First Aid is a first aid training course with a plan to create a VR innovative solution for first aid training and delivery. Having more scenarios to practise in VR to complete the training course will help the students believe that they can respond in the real world, by measuring the real experience, this will build confidence in an emergency.

Donna & Chris Graves – Micro Acres Wales

Micro Acres Wales is a family enterprise, growing a wide range of micro vegetables and herbs at their ubran farm in Pontypridd, delivering “Farm to Fork” farming that minimises carbon use in production, transport, and storage. Their philosophy is built on an ethical respect for nature, with all produce farmed locally, sustainably, and responsibly.

Bethan Trevett – Keep the Change

Keep the Change is a social enterprise – a cross between a café and a restaurant. An informal dining experience with tasty, seasonal meals, locally roasted coffee and impeccable service. They would be employing and training prison leavers and those who’ve experienced homelessness, wanting to turn their lives around. They want to create sustainable futures, for people, the planet and the community.
