We’re looking for an Outreach Admin and Communications Assistant!

Here at ICE we have ambitious plans for 2021. One of our biggest objectives is to grow the reach of our 5-9 Club programme to communities all across the UK. We’ve seen the genuine changes the 5-9 Club can make on peoples lives and with our new online platform, we can now reach far beyond our Caerphilly HQ. To help us reach these goals we are offering a rare opportunity to join the ICE team as our new Outreach Admin and Communications Assistant.

The 5-9 Club is an 8 week after-hours business accelerator course, and a vital component in the Welsh ICE Outreach Strategy. We are looking for an organised individual with good communication skills to support our Community Outreach Team with course marketing, recruitment, admin and communications. This admin is a key element of our funding and partnership requirements, so it’s important that we get this right.

This is a very exciting position for an enthusiastic person to develop a wide range of business, admin, training and communications skills, as well as getting a taste for several roles within an organisation.

You will be the kind of person who leaves all cynicism at the door and believes 100% in the vision and dedication of the entrepreneur who is opening their heart and sharing their idea with you. You will be driven to support them along their business journey.

Your HQ will be the ICE Campus in Caerphilly, but this role will facilitate national campaigns, as a result, we welcome applications from candidates who would prefer to work from home.

As entrepreneurs work all hours, this person will be expected to work evenings and weekends when required. Most of our 5-9 Club sessions run on weekday evenings and other related workshops may happen on weekends. The admin however can be completed during the day as well as much of the communication work.

We also have a lot of fun along the way!

  • The following skills are required for the role:
  • Attention to detail
  • Comfortable using IT systems including office packages
  • Organised
  • Reliable
  • A great communicator on social media, phone and email

Experience working in an admin, marketing or communications role would be a bonus. The ability to drive is prefered but not required. English and Maths GCSE Equivalent Grade C or above desired.

Note: This role is a 6-month job placement through the Kickstart Employer Scheme. It is only open to those aged 16-24 who are claiming Universal Credit. To apply, please contact your Job Centre work coach.
